Itinerary

1 Ahoy Traveller!

The Great Himalayan National park is not only home to some of the worlds tallest mountains but also large swathes of temperate forests and grass lands creating a diversified ecosystem where both Fauna and Flora thrive. This trip takes you to the heart of this World Heritage Site and leaves you in awe as you discover this Himalayan wonderland. In order to do this , we must get to Ghusaini first.

Ghusaini is a quaint himalayan village in the Banjar district of Himachal Pradesh. On reaching Ghusaini we check in to our river side homestay. After lunch we take a short hike to a water fall nearby, the Chhoie waterfall. On the way back , take time to admire the himalayan villages we will cross.

Once we cross the village of Kauncha and walk along the gurgling Tirthan river for 2-3 hours approx ( depending on your pace) we reach the gates of The Great Himalayan National Park. From here on our campsite is about 30 min away.

On reaching the campsite , tents are pitched and then we indulge in snacks while gazing across the gorgeous landscape

While you are walking , ensure you are extremely quiet or if you have to converse try whispering in the ear or playing dumb charades! .

The forest is home many species of animals and birds your voices may spook them away. If you are a birding enthusiast , this is your lucky day as you might get to sight the rare Monal Pheasant

As you walk through the dense forest there are many species of animals and birds along the trail to Shilt Hut. You do not want to spook them away. Carry your camera to capture these rare beauties! On reaching Shilt we eat lunch, soak in the views and return back to our river side camp below.
