Just spend today relaxing and healing after a long and tiring journey!
At Kohima Camp, Nagaland, relax in individually designed tents, with en-suite bathrooms, crisp linen and personal butler services. The camp is nestled in a region occupied mainly by the Angami tribe. They were predominantly warriors, but also cultivators, having developed 20 different strains of rice to suit variations in temperature and landscape, particularly in the area.
Welcome to the Land of the Nagas!
On arriving in Dimapur, a representative will meet you at the airport and will drive you to your residence (3h) at the Kohima Camp, nestled in the foothills of the Japfu mountain.
After a traditional welcome of the Naga tribes, you can check into your Luxury tent and get settled in.
The rest of the evening is at your leisure. Soak in the serenity of the surroundings. Have a drink or two by the campfire and enjoy a sumptuous al fresco feast crafted by the in-house chef right in the lap of Mother Nature.

Today, get a glimpse into the Naga life!
The annual Hornbill Festival is the ten day long celebration of Naga culture and traditions. It is the pride of Nagaland, featuring all of the 16 tribes (as well as subtribes) of the state with spectacular displays, bringing together the myriad cultures of the tribes and encouraging inter-tribal interaction.
After a hearty breakfast, we drive to the village of Kisama for the spectacular Hornbill Festival. Witness the 16 tribes of Nagaland display their rich cultural heritage through their arts, dance, music, food, attire and headgear, handicrafts and paintings, in an extravaganza of colours, sights, sounds and tastes.
Other activities include games and sports like wrestling and archery, climbing a greased bamboo pole, chilli eating contests, motor rallies and literature fests. Choose from a magnificent collection of handicrafts and handloom, sure to leave you spellbound.
Head back to the camp for some lunch and a siesta!
If you're up for it, you can choose to join in the festivities again at the Hornbill Festival in Kohima. Stroll the bazaars for some handicrafts and trinkets while you listen to the beats of local Naga Rock bands. You can also witness a fashion show, featuring both traditional and modern outfits and watch the Miss Nagaland contest in full swing.
Return to camp after an exciting day for dinner and some shut eye.

Travel notes of the day
Kigwema is a quaint village of the Angami tribe. The name 'Kigwema' literally means ‘inheritance of the house’ and it is believed that many other Angami villages originated from here. In 1944, when the Japanese forces stopped in Kigwema on their way to attack Kohima, they were given shelter by the villagers.
Today, post breakfast, we spend another lovely morning enjoying the festivities of the Hornbill festival in Kisama.
After lunch, you can spend the rest of the day relaxing at camp, or you can choose to visit the Kigwema village, a charming village of the Angami tribe. Saunter through the village and admire the traditional houses with majestic wooden pillars. You can stop at a local house for a cup of traditional tea, to experience the Angami way of life.
Later this evening, you can enjoy the celebrations in Kohima for the last time.
Return to camp for a delicious dinner while you look back on what has been an unforgettable few days!
