- Gwalior is an impotrant commercial, industrial and cultural centre. The fort city is home to the Scindia dynasty of the Maratha empire that once rules these lands. However, it is a melting pot of a number of cultures.
- It is also the birth place of the 'gharana' which is believed to be one of the oldest styles of Indian classical music and is also the resting place of the legendary musician, Tansen.
Welcome to Gwalior!
On arriving at the Gwalior airport/railway station, a private vehicle will drive you to your hotel. Freshen-up and relax for the day.
The evening calls for a visit to the majestic Gwalior fort to experience a 45 minute Sound and Light show which highlights the history of Gwalior.

One of the finest forts in India, Gwalior fort has been dubbed ‘The Pearl in the Necklace of the Forts’ by the Mughal emperor Babur. This fort has seen the rule of many empires, from the Hunas and Tomars to the Mughals and Marathas and more.
The fort complex houses palaces like the Gujari Mahal, the Jahangir Mahal, the Shah Jahan Mahal, Karan Mahal and the Man Mandir Palace and Jain temples and rock-cut monuments.
The Rani of Jhansi, Lakshmibai sought asylum within the walls of this fort during the revolt of 1857 against the British., where she breathed her last.
We spend the entirety of today doing some sightseeing of Gwalior. Some of our stops include the Gwalior Fort, the Man Singh Palace and Gurjari Mahal. We also visit Ghaus Mohammed's Tomb, Tansen's Tomb, Sarod Ghar, the Sun Temple and the Jai Vilas Palace and Museum.
The evening is spent touring the city at your leisure and shopping for local handicrafts, clothes and souvenirs.

Set on the bank of the river Betwa, the medieval town of Orchha was established by Rudra Pratap Singh, a Bundel chief in the 16th century and served as the capital of the Bundeldynasty from 1531 to 1783 CE .
It houses some of the finest palaces, temples, monuments and cenotaphs with the unique Bundeli architecture that blends Mughal and Rajput styles. The fort complex surrounding the town comprises many a palace and monuments like the Raj Mahal, the Jehangir Mahal: and the Rai Parveen Mahal.
We pack up and leave for the town of Orchha, situated on the banks of the Betwa river, after some breakfast. After relaxing at the accommodation, embark on a sightseeing tour of the city. Navigate through its palaces, temples, monuments and fort complex.
Some of the spots we visit are the fort complex, the Raja Ram Temple - the only temple where Lord Ram is worshipped both as a God & as a King, The Laxmi Narayan temple, the Jahangir Mahal, built in Honour of the Mughal Emperor Jahangir and the much-acclaimed Chhatris.
