Tour Experience
Join Ecohunters' as we take you on an epic journey to The Maasai Mara National Reserve, celebrated as Africa’s Greatest Wildlife Reserve. It was voted the eighth wonder of the world in 2007 for its spectacular annual wildebeest migration. The Masai Mara is named after the Maasai people, with 'Mara' meaning 'spotted' in their language, reflecting the landscape's appearance. This vast ecosystem spans approximately 1,510 square kilometers, bordered by the Serengeti to the south and Maasai ranches to the north, east, and west. The area features open grasslands with scattered acacia trees and is lined with shrubs along its three rivers: the Sand, Talek, and Mara Rivers.
Every year, from July to October, the Masai Mara transforms into the setting for one of the most breathtaking wildlife spectacles in the world – the Great Migration. The sight of countless animals scattered across the plains is truly astonishing. The sun-kissed grasses of the rolling Savannah become a temporary home for over 1.5 million zebras, wildebeests, and antelopes journeying from the Serengeti to the Masai Mara in search of lush pastures and water. This remarkable migration is exclusive to the Serengeti and the Masai Mara, with no other event quite like it.
Amboseli National Park, located near Mount Kilimanjaro, is famous for its close encounters with herds of elephants. Nature enthusiasts can explore its diverse habitats, from the dried bed of Lake Amboseli to savannahs and wetlands, while enjoying unique bush meals.
All these parks and reserves feature a variety of wildlife, including the Big Five—elephants, lions, buffaloes, leopards, and rhinos—along with cheetahs, wild dogs, giraffes, zebras, crocodiles, and more.
