This breathtaking Chanderkhani Pass trek encompasses a plethora of jaw-dropping sights alongside the gorgeous environs of Himachal Pradesh. This trekking package in India begins at Naggar and after crossing the Chanderkhani Pass at 3600m, the trail heads to the Malana village, famous for its distinct and very resA moderate to a low altitude trek in the Kullu Valley. This can be attempted at anytime of the year, however the ideal time to trek this circuit is between Mid- June to Early October.

Itinerary

1 Manali

Welcome to Manali

On arrival at Manali, you will be received at the city bus stand and transferred to accommodation in the awaiting vehicle .

Once we finish breakfast, we leave for Manali town to check out the atmosphere , may be a bit of sightseeing or some last minute shopping . This is also essentially a process of acclimatisation.

We will end the day with orientation for the trek

This is the day we start our trek

We will hike through stretches of green pastures of Stelling and Ghalkrari . Walking through this forest you amidst Rhododendron shrubs and Bhojpatra trees is a such a refreshing experience

A gradual uphill walk through the conifer and alpine meadows offering a magnificent view of the Pirpanjal range with mountains rising above 6000 meters. It is a gorgeous sight. After walking for 4 km, we hit a steady ascent to reach Chiklani base camp

Today, you ascend to the Dhalakda Pathar and later proceed to a steady uphill on the ridge of the Chanderkhani Pass. From here, soak in the great views of Bara Bangal range in the west, Pir Panjal to the north and Parvati in the east. Three times lucky!

After this ascend you start your climb down which gets steeper when on the way to Nagruni as compared to the climb up to the Pass. Watch your descend and arrive at the camping ground of Nagruni .

We descend down to reach our next camp next to the Malana river.

This trail leads to Malana village, we will camp at Biskeri Thach. This is a steep down-hill trek from 2800 to 2600 metres. Trek among tall coniferous trees to reach the camp site .

Arise warriors! Today is the last day of our trek

We set off for a day trip to explore one of the most isolated villages and oldest democracy in the world ,Malana. After we spend time exploring the village, we descend to Jari and then to the hydro power project site where our transport awaits to drive us back to manali .
