On reaching Kohima we check in to the accommodation and rest for the day. Enroute we might stop by the Kohima War cemetery - in memory fo service officers during World War II. This depends on time and consensus of the group. We will also visit the state museum which has a collection of rare artefacts

Though Nagalander's are mainly hunters , the birds find their safe haven in protected area's where hunting , poaching is prohibited.
Pangti is a quaint village approx. 160 km from Kohima. This village is sandwiched between mountains and the green landscapes at an elevation of approx. 3000ft. This village is popular for protecting Amur Falcons which migrate from here to Africa on this winter season.
Their's is an interesting story of survival and conversation and how the community involvement helped them to thrive again.

The international border passes through the village chiefs house. Every resident here has dual citizenship of India and Myanmar .
Headhunting was a practice until the 1960 as it was believed it boosted crop fertility.

The camp of Assam Rifles (AR) company watch the border which is a few miles away from the village, there is a pillar, indicating the international border with ‘154 BP 1971-72’ inscribed on it.
