Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1

ARRIVE. AIRPORT TO PINNAWALA – App Dist. 80 KM / ETA. 02 & 1/2 HOURS PINNAWALA TO KANDY – Approx. Dist 50 KM / ETA 02 HOURS

Arrive by (flt no) at (00hrs). Please clear immigration & visa formalities, collect your baggage and proceed to the arrival lounge through the green channel if you do not have goods to be declared to customs. Our Representative will page you by your name. Thereafter you will be assisted to the Car park to begin you journey. We Proceed to Kandy via Pinnawala elephant orphanage. PINNAWALA ELEPHANT ORPHANAGE: App. 55 miles from Colombo, off the Colombo – Kandy road is Pinnawela, where an orphanage was started in 1975 to house the abandoned and the wounded elephants. The number of elephants has increased to more than 65 now; including Baby Elephants brought from various parts, as well as some of the more than 25 babies born, as a result of the captive breeding program. The best time to visit is the feeding time from 0930-1000 hrs and 1330-1400 hrs and the bathing time from 1000-1030 hrs and 1400-1430 hrs when all the elephants are taken to the river close by. We then proceed to KANDY.
Day 02

KANDY – NUWAYARA ELIYA : Kandy to Ramboda – Approx. 60 KM / ETA 02 hours Ramboda to Nuwara Eliya – Approx. 35 KM / ETA . 01 & 1/2 hours

NUWAYARA ELIYA means "city on the plain (table land)" or "city of light". The city is the administrative capital of Nuwaraya Eliya District with a picturesque landscape and temperate climate. It is at an altitude of 1,868 m (6,128 ft) and is considered to be the most important location for PIDURUTALAGALLA, the tallest mountain in Sri Lanka. Nuwara Eliya is known for its temperate, cool climate –tea production. The city is overlooked by the coolest area in Sri Lanka. After breakfast we depart KANDY to proceed to NUWAYARA ELIYA, we stop for a tea factory plantation tour on the way.
Day 03

NUWERYA ELIYA –BENTOTA

About 62 km south of Colombo, the city is graced by palm trees and a serene atmosphere. Located in the Southern Province, many tourists take in Bentota as a combined excursion with Beruwela.It is also a popular weekend getaway for many residents of Colombo. The local population is predominantly Singhalese Buddhist and he name of the city is taken from a mythical demon “Ben” who ruled the river banks or ‘tota’. Arrive in Bentota and spend the day at leisure/ visit a turtle hatchery and enjoy a mangrove boat ride in Madu River.
Day 04

BENTOTA TO COLOMBO - DEPART

After breakfast at the Hotel we proceed to the airport. If time and traffic conditions permit we take a drive through the city of Colombo taking you to the busy commercial areas as well as the tree-lined residential, Cinnamon Gardens. Visit Fort, the former British administrative center and military garrison, Sea Street - the Goldsmith’s quarters in the heart of Pettah, the Bazaar area, where is also a Hindu Temple with elaborate stone carvings, and the Dutch Church of Wolfendhal dating back to 1749. Also visit the BMICH, see the replica of Avukana Buddha, Gangarama temple and Independence Square.Afterwards proceed to airport for your scheduled flight with so much to remember and cherish !
