Itinerary

1 Dimapur - Kohima

Welcome to the Land of the Nagas!

On arriving in Dimapur, a representative will meet you at the airport and will drive you to your residence (3h) at the Kohima Camp, nestled in the foothills of the Japfu mountain.

After a traditional welcome of the Naga tribes, you can check into your luxury tent in the midst of rolling, green hills, and get settled in.

The rest of the evening is at your leisure. Soak in the serenity of the surroundings. Have a drink or two by the campfire and enjoy a sumptuous al fresco feast crafted by the in-house chef right in the lap of Mother Nature.

After a hearty breakfast, we drive to the village of Kisama for the spectacular Hornbill Festival. Witness the 16 tribes of Nagaland display their rich cultural heritage through their arts, dance, music, food, attire and headgear, handicrafts and paintings, in an extravaganza of colours, sights, sounds and tastes.

Other activities include games and sports like wrestling and archery, climbing a greased bamboo pole, chilli eating contests, motor rallies and literature fests. Choose from a magnificent collection of handicrafts and handloom, sure to leave you spellbound.

Head back to the camp for some lunch and a siesta!

If you're up for it, you can choose to join in the festivities again at the Hornbill Festival in Kohima. Stroll the bazaars for some handicrafts and trinkets while you listen to the beats of local Naga Rock bands. You can also witness a fashion show, featuring both traditional and modern outfits and watch the Miss Nagaland contest in full swing.

Return to camp after an exciting day for dinner and some shut eye.
